Doctor Who: 10 Big Finish Companions Who Deserve To Be On TV

7. Molly O'Sullivan

Suffering from losses incurred from his last fight with the Daleks, the Eighth Doctor had become a bitter, defeated figure when the Time Lord Straxus gave him a new mission and, in Molly O'Sullivan, a new reason to live. Molly was a nurse in the mud and battle of wartime Europe and the Doctor had to solve the mystery of her Dark Eyes. Like Lucie Miller before her, Molly was no passive companion, her strong convictions and morals sometimes clashing with the Doctor's bigger picture. Her travels with the Doctor in his 'Tardy-box' gave the Irish nurse a new perspective on life and the two soon became good friends. However, her infusion with retrogenitor particles (don't ask!) made her a constant target for the machinations of the Dalek Time Controller and the Master. This, and a blossoming career for actress Ruth Bradley over the pond, led to Molly being written out of the Dark Eyes saga though the character appeared once last time, now older and played by Sorcha Cusick in Dark Eyes 4.
