Doctor Who: 10 Big Finish Companions Who Deserve To Be On TV

5. Klein

One of Big Finish's more high concept characters, Elizabeth Klein remains one of their most fascinating creations. Originally a villain, Klein came from an alternate timeline where the Nazis won World War Two. This was because Ace left a music player that contained advanced tech at Colditz castle. However, coming back from her 1960s timeline to Colditz in the war led to Klein undoing her own timeline and she remained marooned in a world that was not hers. She meets up with the Doctor again during the Mau Mau uprising in Kenya and ended up becoming his travelling companion. When the chance came along, though, she stole his TARDIS and restored the Nazi timeline, creating the Galactic Reich. It was a very long day. Thankfully, the Doctor ended up restoring time to its normal course but chose to give Klein another chance, changing her past and placing her in another dimension on an alternative Earth as UNIT's scientific advisor. They have crossed paths since and Klein has even picked up her own companion. One of the few people who have travelled with the Doctor who is as brilliant, manipulative and ruthless as the Time Lord, the pair have a fascinating relationship. To Klein, the man with the umbrella ruined her life yet they have a strange affinity with each other. It helps that, as Klein, Tracey Childs is superb.
