Doctor Who: 10 Big Questions After Death In Heaven

10. Is Clara Gone For Good?

If Death In Heaven really is Clara's swan song, then it certainly was not the departure we expected it to be. It wasn't the angry, explosive end to the Doctor and Clara's friendship that Kill The Moon teased. Nor was it the happy walk into the sunset with Danny that we all assumed would result in leaving the TARDIS for good. Danny was dead but Clara decided to give up those adventures for him anyway, lying to the Doctor by suggesting she was staying in Earth to be with her one true love. The Doctor lied to her too, claiming to have found Gallifrey. They left each other believing the other to have discovered their happy ending. But is it really the end for this companion? After she saved every version of the Doctor from the Great Intelligence, she became the most connected companion to the Doctor since, well, Susan. Can she give that up? What will happen if and when they discover that the other wasn't being so truthful in that cafe at the end of Death In Heaven. If they're both as unhappy as we suspect they are, will they decide to continue their travels together again? Truth be told, Clara leaving and coming back would be a very similar pattern to what happened with Amy and Rory. The rumours suggested that she might be leaving this Christmas. Is Clara involved and what kind of role will that be? A returning cameo like Donna in The End Of Time? Or the start of another series of adventures? Or has Jenna Coleman said goodbye to Clara for good?
