Doctor Who: 10 Big Questions After Death In Heaven

9. What About Orson Pink?

One of the biggest surprises of the episode was that Danny Pink didn't survive it. Way back in Listen we met his great grandson Orson, a time traveller who was continuing the family business. Given that Samuel Anderson played Orson too, we have to believe that he was Danny's descendant. Furthermore, we assumed that Clara might be Orson's great grandmother. Assuming Danny really is gone, the biggest question now regarding Orson is did he actually exist or has history been rewritten? It is quite possible that Clara and the Doctor caught a glimpse of an alternative future before the events of Dark Water / Death In Heaven changed it forever. There is another option which would also explain Clara's decision to leave for good. She could be pregnant with Danny's child, which might also explain the reason for all those post it notes during her aborted conversation with Danny at the start of Dark Water. Carrying his child - Orson's grandparent - would explain her decision to stop her TARDIS adventures and fulfill the future glimpsed in Listen.
