7. What Role Will UNIT Continue To Play In The Doctor's Life?

Thanks to the arrival of Kate Stewart, the daughter of the aforementioned Brigadier, UNIT took dramatic action against Missy and the Cyberman threat by installing the Doctor as the President of Earth. It wasnt a role he took lightly, though considering their experiences working with the Doctor, it was certainly a logical step in dealing with the global alien invasion . Though you have to wonder how countries like North Korea would ever go along with that plan! UNIT set the Doctor up bigger than ever before. A number of good soldiers and scientists died - including poor Osgood - but Kate herself survived. Will the Doctor so readily support the woman who drugged and captured him just to make him president? Will his gruff nature work well with UNIT at all? Of course, if they could work with the arrogance of the Third Doctor, they could work with anyone. This was the first time UNIT played a role in the Twelfth Doctor's life. It will be interesting to see how they get on the next time they meet.
