This episode is what can be referred to as the very first puppy kick episode of the series. The Doctor's been a lone traveler ever since Gallifrey was "destroyed", the Time Lords and Daleks both "obliterated." This is the first episode of the revival when the Doctor discovers a surviving Dalek in 2012 Utah. Chained down and weakened, Rose's touch of pity gives off time energy from traveling in the TARDIS and re-energizes the Dalek, which obviously wasn't such a good idea. The Dalek shuts down the entire U.S. west coast absorbing all of it's energy... all the while downloading the entire 2012 Internet... Not exactly one of those moments where you wonder how this revival got off the ground in the first place, but now that 2012 itself has come and gone in our time we ask ourselves the challenging question... how smart could that Dalek have really gotten by reading our entire Internet? Be mindful that includes Reddit, FunnyJunk, YouTube comments, and every LOLcat and general meme to have ever existed, you name it.
