Doctor Who: 10 Biggest Facepalm Moments

3. Biological Metacrisis (The Stolen Earth / Journey's End)

The first time in the show's history to fake out a regeneration, the Doctor was finally reunited with Rose when he was shot dead by a Dalek in arguably the biggest puppy kick moment since Doomsday. Okay sorry, nothing is worse than Doomsday. Nothing. When his regeneration cycle begins, you're left on a cliffhanger to next week. Then we open up in Journey's End with the Doctor siphoning his regeneration energy into Jack's little play thing that is the Doctor's severed hand from the Sycorax invasion of Christmas Day. The facepalm of having to wait a whole week only to find out that the whole thing was a fakeout was made up for by all the adorable moments between the Doctor and Rose that everyone missed so much. Then we were all treated to another facepalm when the debate on whether or not this counted as one of the Doctor's twelve regenerations, which we found out years later that it did. He had vanity issues at the time.
