Doctor Who: 10 Biggest Mistakes Of The Chris Chibnall Era

3. Ignoring The Consequences Of The Flux

For the first time since the classic era, Series 13 saw an entire series dedicated to one storyline: the Flux.

It saw the Doctor battle against an ancient foe, while a mysterious force known as the Flux ripped through the universe, destroying several planets and civilisations along the way. The consequences of this would surely have massive repercussions for many series to come... right?

At the climax of the final episode (after much of the universe is destroyed), the Doctor uses a Passenger form to absorb and stop the Flux. But in the Thirteenth Doctor's next few episodes, the consequences of much of the universe being destroyed were pretty much never mentioned again.

Even the Master doesn't mention the Flux in The Power of the Doctor, and nothing is said of the consequences it had on the universe. Earth seemingly also has no recollection of the events of Flux, like all of the Lupari space ships forming a shield around the planet, and the takeover of the Sontarans.

Just like the Fugitive Doctor, it seems unlikely that Russell T Davies will ever mention or revisit the Flux and its consequences ever again.
