7. Don't Forget To Remember
Don't forget to remember your family is one of the most important rules that any time traveller should abide by but it's one that slipped Rose's mind fairy quickly indeed. It all started in her very first episode (appropriately entitled 'Rose' - bet that was her idea too!) when she didn't even think twice about abandoning her roots when the Ninth Doctor initially invited her aboard the TARDIS. She set her sights on adventures anew and left her boyfriend, Mickey, slumped in a bumbling mess on the floor whilst her mother, Jackie, was desperately trying to get hold of her after being attacked by Autons. Yep, as the previous post has already affirmed, it really was always about Rose. She did go back home from time to time, though, so credit where credit's due. Admittedly it was usually to get her washing done and even when she did manage to fit a visit into her busy schedule of Earth defending it wasn't always executed well. In the Series 1 two parter Aliens of London/World War Three, for example, she went missing for a whole Earth year but even then she didn't seem to spare a thought for the traumatising effects this had had on her mother and boyfriend (the latter of whom had been accused of murdering her) because she was off in the TARDIS again before you could say Raxacoricofallapatorius. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufLF_mOQXhs It must've been pretty awkward in Doomsday, too, when Rose vowed to never leave the Doctor's side before being trapped forevermore on the parallel world with the family she had just casually abandoned. Rose was many things but a homegirl she was not. Did anyone ever tell her that blood is thicker than water?
