7. The Fugitive Doctor Returns
One of the greatest mysteries currently plaguing Doctor Who is the exact identity of the Fugitive Doctor.
Played by Jo Martin, this renegade Time Lady turned up in Series 12's Fugitive of the Judoon, and turned our hero's entire chronology upside down. It was later revealed that she was a version of the Doctor from before her "first" incarnation, expanding on the bombshell dropped by the whole Timeless Child thing.
The Doctor's newfound backstory opens lots of new doors for the character, ones that could be opened across future series. But the first past life that needs to be explored is this one, mostly because of how badly it was explained by Chris Chibnall.
That, and because Jo Martin is terrific in the role.
