Doctor Who: 10 Fictional Characters The Doctor Should Meet

8. The Scooby Doo Gang

Why should the Boneless be the only 2D characters the Doctor encounters in his travels? The Doctor already has a long tradition of 2D adventures, from the dopey strips of the 1960s to the classic Doctor Who Weekly strips such as The Iron Legion and The Star Beast to today€™s IDW series. With their natural curiosity, the Scooby gang would make perfect guest stars in Doctor Who, investigating a haunted house that turns out to be an alien incursion. The Doctor has form with K-9 and even had an alien dog thing in The Ultimate Adventure stage show so he should get on with Scooby, while Shaggy has more than a touch of Rory Pond about him. In the 1960s and 1980s, the Doctor travelled with four companions so why not take the entire gang into time and space? The Doctor speaks fluent baby so a dog should be no problem. With Daphne and Thelma you have the best of both worlds, the clever Zoe like one and the dolly bird Polly Wright version. Fred would get uppity but he could be left on a Cybership heading to Earth - it would give someone for Adric to talk to in his final moments, at least.
