Doctor Who has never shied away from dealing with political issues, and 2018's Kerblam is no exception, taking aim at the bad practices of online shopping retailers and delivery companies.

After receiving a parcel from a delivery robot, the Doctor travels to futuristic retailer Kerblam and uncovers some dark and mysterious goings-on behind the scenes. One of the main characters in the story who makes it so memorable is Dan Cooper, played by Lee Mack, who gives an excellent performance full of dry wit and humour - in true Mack fashion.

It then turns out that another human worker, Charlie Duffy - who is protesting against the replacement of the human work force with robots - is behind the mysterious disappearances that have plagued the company.

In true Chibnall fashion, fan service pours from Kerblam at every opportunity, with references to the Eleventh Doctor's fez, and the return of Venusian aikido, which was used extensively by the Third Doctor in the 1970s.
