Doctor Who: 10 Greatest Thirteenth Doctor Stories
3. The Woman Who Fell To Earth
A debut story can make or break a Doctor in the eyes of the public, and with new interest and hype around the show (due to the huge publicity surrounding the new lead actor), Doctor debuts must also act as a good jumping-on point for newbies.
In one of his finest scripts to date, Chibnall knocked it out of the park with The Woman Who Fell To Earth, creating a compelling introduction for the Thirteenth Doctor and her future companions Graham, Ryan, and Yaz.
As well as the meme-worthy salad man, the story introduces us to villain Tzim-Sha, who is affectionately dubbed "Tim Shaw" by the Doctor. The episode is also incredibly tragic towards the end, taking a huge risk by beginning the series with two of the companions in a state of deep trauma following the actions of the Doctor.
Like any good Doctor debut, Jodie also finds her now-iconic costume in a hilarious and brilliant way - and even builds her own sonic screwdriver.
