Doctor Who: 10 Greatest Thirteenth Doctor Stories

The Thirteenth Doctor's final outing proved that Chibnall was capable of giving us a satisfying and surprising send-off, with enough fan service to make even the most hardcore Whovian squeal with delight.

The Power of the Doctor features the Master (in the guise of Rasputin) forming an alliance with the Daleks and the Cybermen while placing himself throughout history, before capturing the Doctor for a "forced regeneration", leaving Yaz - along with the help of some familiar faces - to save the day. These familiar faces include the return of former companions Ace and Tegan, who travelled with the Seventh and Fifth Doctors, respectively.

Thirteen's regeneration was the scene that totally stole the special however, with the Doctor saying goodbye to Yaz in a genuinely heartbreaking scene. In a literal cliffhanger, the Doctor then regenerated into one of her previous faces - that of David Tennant, who is reportedly set to play the Fourteenth Doctor in a trio of specials in 2023.

What?! Queue Whovians around the world absolutely losing their minds.

Despite its confusing story, The Power of the Doctor is one of the most gripping, deliriously entertaining episodes we've seen in recent times.
