Doctor Who: 10 Historical Figures The Doctor Should Totally Meet

6. Mrs Beeton

Mrs Beeton This sounds like an odd person to meet in the grand scheme of things, but bear with me. Mrs Isabella Mary Beeton was best known for her book 'Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management', which she wrote aged just 21. Yes, 21. She tragically died 7 years later - she's not the stout homely old woman everyone imagines when reading her cookbook. Anyway, this is one especially for Clara. She wants to learn to make the perfect souffle, so the Doctor takes her to the mother of the modern cookbook. They arrive and quickly see that she's pregnant with her last child and will soon die, so the Doctor decides to take her on an outer space culinary trail. Again, she's a little obscure, but this episode could be one for the mums (no sexism intended, but Mrs Beeton is a book that would be passed down from grandmother to mother etc.) It would definitely be a treat for Clara, so that suggests that this would probably be close to her swansong. This would be a sad one, but you need a bit of heartbreaking Who once in a while.
