Doctor Who: 10 Most Disturbing Episodes
2. Midnight
This episode is a testament to the fact that you don't need an excessive budget or concept to create a terrifying episode. It operated all within one place, with only the characters' interactions and the unseen creature driving the plot. Still, it was one of Doctor Who's best and most horrifying outings.
"Midnight" shows as the Tenth Doctor travels onboard a small touring vehicle on the hostile surface of the titular planet. However, things begin to go array after a mysterious and invisible entity possesses one of the vehicle's passengers and begins to make her repeat everything that is said. Soon it becomes so good at mimicking that it's able to speak alongside it's hosts.
These unfortunate characters end up dissenting into absolute paranoia and chaos as they throw reason and logic out of the window in favour of fear and irrationality. The setting also adds to the disturbing vibe, as the enclosed space is utterly claustrophobic and makes you feel like the passengers have nowhere to go.
It's easily one of the scariest episodes, thanks to the fact that it revolves around how quickly humans break down when they meet something beyond their control.
