Doctor Who: 10 Most-Viewed Scenes On YouTube Ranked Worst To Best

8. Vincent Van Gogh Visits The Gallery (Vincent And The Doctor)

From the least-viewed scene on our list to the most-viewed scene on our list, this beautiful moment from the end of Series 5's Vincent And The Doctor is a prime candidate for the most tearjerking sequence in the show's history.

It kicks off with the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond, and Vincent van Gogh materialising in modern-day Paris, before the Doctor takes Vincent inside the Musée d'Orsay to show him that his paintings will be remembered long after he is gone.

Overwhelmed by the emotion of it all, Vincent quickly wells up and begins to cry, and most of the time... so do the viewers at home! The scene doesn't quite have the same oomph without all the excellent character work leading up to it - hence why it's not higher on our list - but even when viewed on its own, it's still hugely powerful stuff.

Bonus points for an excellent Bill Nighy speech and a superb song choice.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
