Doctor Who: 10 Most-Viewed Scenes On YouTube Ranked Worst To Best

2. The Eleventh Doctor Regenerates (The Time Of The Doctor)

It was a close call between all three of these regeneration scenes, but we're giving the crown to the Eleventh Doctor's transformation into the Twelfth Doctor.

Not only does it have the fantastic speech and powerful Murray Gold music that the Twelfth Doctor's regeneration does (the track here is Infinite Potential, which is an alternative arrangement of the aforementioned The Long Song), but it has an extra emotional punch thanks to the appearance of one Amelia Pond, who shows up inside the TARDIS to bid her Raggedy Doctor a final goodbye.

Eleven's era was one giant fairytale adventure, with the Doctor assuming the role of Amy's imaginary friend - almost literally, at times. So to have her show up as his imaginary friend in his final scene was a genius touch by Steven Moffat, one that's very hard to watch without switching on the waterworks.

A split-second flash later and Eleven is gone, with a wide-eyed and deeply confused Twelve in his place. Clara's shocked expression is absolutely priceless, and though it was hard to say farewell to Eleven, Twelve got off to a really memorable start.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
