Doctor Who: 10 NuWho Moments That Took Your Breath Away

2. Eyebrows

The second moment to come from The Day of the Doctor. The story of the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who was two-fold. The history of the day that the Doctor destroyed Gallifrey and the invasion of Earth by the Zygons. The story in itself is a discussion for another day but the focus of this entry is the moment that Gallifrey was saved. Over the course of four hundred years, the Doctor had thought about the moment he had destroyed his own planet and he wasn€™t going to do it again. Between them, the three Doctor€™s came up with a plan to turn Gallifrey into a cup-a-soup. Wait, no, suspend Gallifrey in a single moment of time and store it in a parallel pocket universe. That€™s better. Anyway, it would be this plan that would reintroduce his previous nine incarnations as well. Each and every Doctor from the past would use their respective TARDIS to help save Gallifrey. Marvellous. Except that wasn€™t all. It was at this moment fans would see something that no Doctor Who fan has ever seen before. It was a moment that filled Whovian€™s all over the world with an excitement they€™d never expected. €œNo sir, all thirteen€. And then came the flash of those magnificent eyebrows. Fans had seen and heard the next Doctor before his predecessor had regenerated. It was another glimpse into the future and in that one moment, Doctor Who fans were sent into a frenzy.
