Doctor Who: 10 Of Rory's Roriest Moments

6. Not Being A Gooseberry

"Er, listen, mate. If anyone's the gooseberry round here, it's the Doctor." Rory Williams in Amy's Choice
Rory is perhaps one of the most delusional men to ever grace the TARDIS. He seems to understand that, even from his earliest playdates with little Amelia Pond, that he could never compete with the Raggedy Doctor. He's not as exciting, intelligent, adventurous or interesting. He knows that. That said, that doesn't stop him from trying the hardest out of the two to compete for Amy's affections. Everyone loves a good trier! Rory manages, through sheer delusional will power alone, to always act like the Doctor is the third wheel on the tricycle - and more power to him. He refuses to roll over and be insignificant and makes it so that everyone feels truly awkward when his usefulness is brought into question. He competes with the Doctor through unrivalled awkwardness and determination. What could be more wonderfully English than that?! Rory Williams. British Icon.
