7. The Creatures Of Vortis The Web Planet (1965)

Strictly speaking, only the malignant force of the Animus is a villain but regardless of that, the insectoid inhabitants of the planet Vortis are well overdue a return adventure. Partially, bringing back the creatures of Vortis would be the same principle as bringing back the Eight Legs. For many, insects are terrifying. And with the use of the much more sophisticated visuals available, the moth-like Menoptera and the ant-like Zarbi would have the potential to be pretty scary. But, in my opinion, one of the biggest reasons they should return is that, to this day, The Web Planet is the only television story in Doctor Whos history to feature no humanoid characters apart from the main cast. After fifty years, its definitely time to increase that number. And the creatures of Vortis are the obvious choice to try and make another story with completely alien characters. A good balance of CGI and practical effects would do wonders in making the Menoptera, the Zarbi, and the Animus convincing and fear-inducing monsters for the 21st century.
