Doctor Who: 10 Potential Actors Who Could Play The 14th Doctor
2. Tom Hiddleston
There's certainly a lot of Marvel actors on this list isn't there. To be fair, Marvel Studios has an eye for talent and Tom Hiddleston has certainly demonstrated over the years that he's flowing with it. His role as Loki in the MCU sky-rocketed his career, with him quickly capturing the hearts of audience members across the world. So, naturally, why wouldn't you want that talent on Doctor Who, especially if you're having Tom Hiddleston play The Doctor.
The fun thing with Tom Hiddleston is I can see him playing The Doctor in various ways. Looking at his Loki performance, for instance, I'm imagining a very mischievous Doctor who likes to play tricks on those around him (especially his enemies) and continuously manipulate events in his favour, constantly keeping everyone on their toes as they desperately try to determine what he'll do next. So I can see that portrayal being a lot of fun to watch, with Tom Hiddleston having a laugh in the role, and releasing a ton of wit and charm within his performance.
On the other hand, he's also played more serious roles, were Tom Hiddleston's acting becomes much more stern, as he establishes himself as a firm leader like in Kong: Skull Island. In that he's a soldier on a mission, and when things go incredibly wrong for their expedition he continuously steps up with focused determination to keep those around him alive, whilst confronting the disturbed progression of Samuel L. Jackson's character.
I haven't seen The Night Manager unfortunately, but I've only heard good things about it, assuring me further of Tom Hiddleston's talent and range. So, yeah, there's no doubt in my mind that he could pull off an outstanding performance as The Doctor, with so much potential for growth, and endless possibilities within his characterisation.
