2. Loose Ends

While past Doctor Who Christmas Specials have been presented as standalone stories, Last Christmas was a definite continuation of the last series - so much so that it could be considered as its finale. The most predominate loose end from Series 8 to have been tied up in the seasonal story was the demise of Danny Pink in Death in Heaven. In the latest episode, his death was explored in a heartwarming, and not to mention heartbreaking, scene in which Clara Oswald was seen to finally come to terms with the untimely loss of her beloved. There wasn't a dry eye in the house (whoever the house they're in actually belongs to) as she vowed to move on with her life in his memory, although she did promise to think about him for five minutes each day which means he'll always be with her. After Clara was given the closure she needed she was able to step back aboard the TARDIS for adventures anew, which appropriately brings us on to...
