Doctor Who: 10 Reasons Last Christmas Was The Perfect Waking Dream

8. The Unlikely Hero

Shona is the person easiest to dismiss and consequently the one most cognisant of the group€™s true situation. She is the questioning voice €“ the one who reads out the truth from the book they all hold. Shona is the one who figures out she can resist the Dream Crab's hold by concentrating on the music she loves and dancing her way through the peril. While she is not fully aware, she is still more awake than the rest of the crew and is trying to tell herself that something is wrong. Shona is the person who understands the power of connection. She is the one who tries to exchange contact information with the other people and who holds the Doctor€™s other hand. Even when she tries to hang on to the dream at the end, she is ultimately unable to because she is simply too aware to continue to be taken in.
