9. The Show Must Go Wrong
Lets say a female Doctor is in fact being considered. In all fairness, it wouldnt be the same show that billions of planets tune into every week. Imagine everything you love about it being turned inside out. Not only would it not make sense, it wouldnt feel right. Heck, if that were to happen, you wouldve seen Romana go about on her own adventures. What would the Doctor have to do with anything, really? That being said, it would be an entirely different show. A spin off would be more appropriate perhaps. Something like The Sarah Jane Adventures in which a female Doctor (or Time Lady, rather) could have her own show lest it disrupt the ongoing blare of NuWho - because the show just wouldnt be Doctor Who. Doctor Who is about an astonishingly Earth-friendly alien around whom the world revolves. Hes a man and theres nothing wrong with that. Everyone looks up to that man and everyone wants to travel with him. Take that away from him just for the sake of having a female lead and look at what you end up with? Exactly.
