Doctor Who: 10 Storylines That Should've Been A Spin Off
10. The Reward
Kicking off this countdown of Doctor Who storylines that should've been a spin off is the Tenth Doctor's final moments from The End of Time. The character of the Tenth Doctor had changed and evolved so much since he first appeared in 2005 and his death truly defined him and his actions. When he was preparing for his death, he mentioned to Wilf that he first had to collect his "reward". In short, his companions. After all, his companions, especially those who he has managed to save, represent the many victories throughout his travels - the people the Doctor has changed, and vice versa, in a good way. The Eleventh Doctor later revealed that he went back and saw all of them (just how many time did he have, exactly?), however the audience only got to see the primary companions of NuWho, with the exceptions of Alonso and Verity Newman. But why couldn't the rest be shown? Using archive footage of the early companions would perhaps look tacky (sorry, it's not personal Name of the Doctor pre-titles sequence!) but creating a spin off show dedicated to the Tenth Doctor revisiting past companions would be a great way of honouring the show's legacy. Plus, when Doctor Who has a break (which, let's face it, is always), this spin off would help to bridge the gap as a special treat for the audience.
