7. He Was Almost Hannibal

He was also very almost cast as the lead role in the US psychological horror series Hannibal which follows the budding relationship between FBI special investigator Will Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a forensic psychiatrist destined to become Graham's most cunning enemy. He ultimately lost out on the role (it actually went to Hugh Dancy) but the show's producers were so impressed by David's original audition that they've vowed to write him in as a guest star as soon as he's got the time in his busy schedule.
