Doctor Who: 10 Things You Didn't Know About David Tennant

6. Hare Today, Gone Tomorrow

Here's another case of what could've been (and this is the last one on the list... promise!). David originally landed the role of William Hare in the 2010 black comedy film Burke and Hare which, as its title suggests, detailed - albeit loosely - the story of the infamous 19th century grave robbers who found a lucrative business providing cadavers for an Edinburgh medical school. David would've starred alongside Simon Pegg in the movie (the role was given to Andy Serkis instead) but he ultimately had to withdraw himself from the project when a previous commitment with NBC meant he wasn't contractually obliged to take on anything else. In a frustrating turn of events, however, the US drama he prioritised (it was called Rex Is Not Your Lawyer and only got as far as a pilot) wasn't even picked up for a full series which meant that he lost out on both jobs in the end. Them's the breaks.
