Last Christmas is billed to air over the festive period, with both dates and times to be confirmed. British television famously isnt tied down until a week or so before airing, though it is pretty safe to assume that the episode will be airing on Christmas day itself. Every other Christmas Special has. Doctor Who has incredible pulling power in terms of viewership. As for the time, that one remains to be seen. Itll likely receive a primetime place in the schedules opposite Coronation Street or Emmerdale, though with Series 8 receiving later time slots all of this could of course change. Whilst both Steven Moffat and Peter Capaldi don't think Series 8 has been any darker than the preceding series, many fans and critics do. A later time slot is probably inevitable; 7pm or 8pm, depending on what else is in store.
