Doctor Who: 10 Things You Never Knew About Series 3 Of NuWho

The third series of 'NuWho' brought with it yet more changes for the show as Freema Agyeman was enlisted as the Tenth Doctor's coveted new companion Martha Jones. She was no stranger to viewers having previously appeared in the Series 2 finale (albeit it as a different character) but it's safe to say that she had big shoes to fill and unfortunately she spent most of her time aboard the TARDIS trying to escape the shadow of Rose Tyler who had been imprisoned in a parallel universe forevermore - *ahem* - at the end of the last series. Still, as much as Series 3 was about remembering the old (Rose was mentioned in practically every episode, the Doctor was reunited with the Face of Boe and Captain Jack Harkness made his grand comeback - oh, and, as it turns out, Jack is the Face of Boe... just 'cause!), it was also about welcoming in the new, too. Well... the new-ish. The Doctor's arch-nemesis, the Master, made a shock return at the end of the series and it was one to remember as he unleashed his latest trove of terror - and then some - unto the unsuspecting human race. Before that, the Doctor and Martha encountered William Shakespeare in Elizabethan England, Macra on the motorway, Daleks in New York and came face to face with the Weeping Angels who made their critically acclaimed debut in Blink and have since become one of Doctor Who's most iconic and popular adversaries. Don't blink!
