Doctor Who: 10 Times Captain Jack Died And Lived To Tell The Tale

5. The Master

If you were to take a peek at the Master's Christmas list, having somebody who he could continously kill purely for the purposes of his own entertainment would no doubt be near the top of it. Right under a brand new laser screwdriver, of course. Who'd have sonic? It was therefore no surprise to see that the renegade Time Lord leapt at the chance to deploy Captain Jack as his new play thing (no, not that sort of play thing...) in the Series 3 finale. The Doctor's arch nemesis revelled in the opportunity to kill Jack over and over again which must've been pretty exhausting for all parties concerned. Killing someone for fun is an acquired taste but it emphasised just how ruthless the Master can be. Our heart really went out to poor old Jack. Having to repeatedly resurrect yourself must really take it out of you.
