Doctor Who: 10 Worst Twelfth Doctor Moments

1. That CGI T-Rex

After his two cameos in The Day of the Doctor and The Time of the Doctor, Capaldi made his first full appearance in Deep Breath. It was a fun, inventive episode that was enhanced with the appearance of familiar favorites, The Paternoster Gang and the 11th Doctor.

Sadly, the episode wasn’t as shining a premiere as it should’ve been for one Jurassic reason - Cretaceosus to be exact. Somehow a Tyrannosaurus-Rex materialized in Victorian London and The Doctor had to deal with that alongside a half-faced man and the ill-effects of his recent regeneration.

The latter two elements worked well enough, but nobody could take the T-rex seriously as it was some of the worst CGI of all time.

The 12th Doctor’s first episode didn’t work out as planned because there’s simply no getting around a poorly done job. If better CGI wasn’t available the show would’ve been better off not having a dinosaur at all. Instead die hard fans were forced to ogle that abomination for an extended episode. Thankfully, it died about halfway through.
