4. The Vervoids (Terror Of The Vervoids)

These creatures first appear through a green circle POV shot. As a result, they have exactly one scene which isn€™t demeaning to them. For most of the story, they hide in air conditioning ducts like they€™re ashamed of themselves. Which is perfectly understandable. There is then a scene in which four of them talk while the viewer laughs uncontrollably, wonderfully framed so that their entire bodies are visible. They talk in this scene with a raspy voice which may have been an accident as the headgear slowly killed the unfortunate actors inside. The series was currently on probation from the heads of the BBC and evidently their supporters were in the design department on this day.
