5. Sleigh Ride Over London
Let's just take a minute to appreciate this heartwarming sleigh ride over London. A journey in Santa's sleigh is what dreams are made of and in this case, they truly were. The episode up to this point had been a seasonal delight and this was just the icing on the cake. What's more, the Doctor even got to
ride the sleigh (and Peter's face was an absolute picture as he did it) which is something he's never done before,
non-canonical BBC One idents notwithstanding. Did he even actually fly it, though, seeing as it was all happening in a dream? Oh, it was just far too magical too even care about the technicalities. The Doctor has flown Santa's sleigh and nobody can ever take that away from him, thank you very much. It was also a moment of great sadness, of course, as all the best Christmas TV moments usually are. Each character disappeared one by one as they woke back up in their respective lives and for Clara in particular it was a dream that ended far too quickly. All good things must come to an end, though, but it's a safe bet to assume that as far as all the future countdowns of Doctor Who's Most Christmassy Moments are concerned, this scene will be right up there at the top. It doesn't get much more Christmassy than this.
