Doctor Who 12th Doctor: 5 Reasons Why Eddie Izzard Should Be Cast

1. Tom Baker Himself Recommended Him In 2005

8 Let that sink in. William Hartnell recommended Patrick Troughton, and remember how well that went down? Doctor approved Doctors work wonderfully, and when it's someone as close to and familiar with the role and the show as Tom Baker, you know he knew what he was talking about. It makes you think about what could have been, doesn't it? Izzard and Ecclestone were roughly the same age at the time. What direction would the show have gone if Izzard had been cast instead? Personally, I don't think too much on 'what could have been', partly because there's still a slight possibility that Izzard could pop out of the blue box this Christmas, and partly because I think he'll make a much better 12 than 9. But to hell with all that. TOM BAKER (repeat TOM BAKER) says Izzard should have the part. So give it to him guys! Who knows, maybe this Christmas Izzard will immortalize the phrase 'High-heels are cool.' Actually, best not... Anyway, do you think Izzard should take over from baby-face Smith? If not, why not? And who would you have instead? Drop a comment below, guys. It's been a pleasure, as always. Peace!
