Doctor Who: 14 Actors Who Will NEVER Be The 14th Doctor

2. Phoebe Waller-Bridge

If rumours are to be believed, Phoebe Waller-Bridge turned down the role of the Thirteenth Doctor prior to it being offered to Jodie Whittaker. This was off the back of the tremendous success of Fleabag, and since then she has showran the first series of Killing Eve, appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story, brought Fleabag back to the stage, and also did extensive rewrites on the most recent James Bond film, No Time to Die.

Would she really turn her back on the interesting work that's clearly coming in from all quarters to play the Doctor? Especially as she's supposedly already turned it down once? Not to mention the fact she'd be turning her back on lucrative, diverse projects to take a lot of flak from men on the internet.

Your writer thinks we can safely say we're not going to see Fleabag in Space any time soon. Which is just as well, as the constant press references to fourth wall breaks and monologues would be as insufferable as their references to Capaldi's connection to Malcolm Tucker!
