Things went from bad to worse for the Tenth Doctor's unlucky in love companion Martha Jones when she found herself trapped in an escape pod that was jettisoned into deep space. To add to the frustration, the Time Lord arrived a moment too late and she couldn't even hear her best friend as he vowed to save her from her untimely fate. He did, of course, but it was touch and go for a scary minute there.
