Doctor Who: 20 Things You Didn't Know About The Tenth Doctor

Anyone who has seen the Series 4 episode Silence in the Library will remember a scene where the Doctor, Donna, and the rest of the team get attacked by flying books.

They hadn't suddenly come to life or anything - although don't rule that out for a future episode. This was the doing of Cal, the young girl trapped inside the library's computer.

Flying books might not seem dangerous on paper (ha), but there aren't many people out there who'd choose to get hit by a copy of War and Peace. One of the exceptions to that rule is David Tennant.

As revealed in the DVD/Blu-Ray commentary for Silence in the Library, the actor actually requested that one of the books hit him. Why? Because he thought the scene needed it.

What a legend.
