Doctor Who: 25 Actors We'd Love To Call The Doctor

2. Mark Warren

love-and-monsters Anyone who ever saw Hustle can testify that Mark Warren can play a brilliant happy-go-lucky, cockney lad, bursting with energy and wit. He really was hilarious to watch, especially opposite the likes of Robert Vaughn and Robert Glenister, and he ad-libbed a lot. So imagine the surprise of any Hustle fan who saw him in Messiah, brooding, dark and caught up in shocking murder plots. Warren, who starred in 'Love and Monsters' as Elton Pope, would make a great Doctor. He's got a sweet naivety to his acting, he's incredibly believable, no matter who he's playing, and he really can handle being the bad guy, as a growling appearance in Life on Mars showed. If only Whovians would forgive him for appearing in that episode, eh?
