Doctor Who: 5 Reasons Why The Eighth Doctor Has More To Give

2. The Audiobooks

Despite the fact the Eighth Doctor has suffered from a distinct lack of presence within the show's on screen legacy, he has to date featured in an abundance of Big Finish audiobooks which have firmly established him as a much loved incarnation in his own right. The success of his previous standalone audio adventures paved the way for his highly acclaimed - and ongoing - Dark Eyes series (you can check out 10 reasons why it's better than the TV series here) so it looks like the future's very bright for the Eighth Doctor on this particular platform. He's so popular, though, so it would be a real shame if he was never given the opportunity to shine on screen again. Paul has developed his character so much throughout the audio adventures so it would be interesting to see his psychical portrayal of this to see how far the Eighth Doctor has come since its inception. The TV show would even be able to reference the Big Finish adventures, too, now that they're officially canon. The possibilities are endless. Hurrah!
