2. A Scary Time Lord
The Doctor is a force to be reckoned with, I think we can all agree on that. But's he rarely been able to truly scare me, even with all the power he has, which I think he really ought to. To clarify, I found the Doctor very imposing when he "disposed" of the Family of Blood in collapsing stars and fancy chains, but I wasn't scared of him. I knew he was fighting for me, on my side, protecting me. It was a great feeling, and a great scene, but I was definitely not scared of the man. By contrast, in "the Beast Below," the Doctor bellows at Amy. He shouts at her, furious,"No human has anything to say to me today!" Needless to say, I was terrified. I thought, "Who is this man? Since when does the Doctor yell at his companions? Since when does he condemn humans in such a way?" Everything I knew about the character was turned on its head, and I loved it. Sadly, the moment didn't last long, and Mr Eleven soon became a straight-shooting, human-loving hero. Which is fine, and I didn't have a problem with. But I will always remember that moment, because it was a rare moment where I felt that I didn't know the Doctor, and didn't know if he was truly on my side. It opened my eyes to a whole world of possibilities of what the character could be, especially through the regeneration process. So I'd love that feeling again, because the Doctor is powerful, massively so. And that is a very scary thing indeed, regardless of what species you may be.
