Doctor Who: 5 Unavoidable Arguments Against A Black Twelfth Doctor (And Why They're Wrong)

1. It Will Cause A Disconnect Between the 12th Doctor And The Rest

doctor who 8(bonus points if this is also cited as why we can€™t have a female 12th Doctor) Though the Doctor is always the same man inside, he always has differences, both character-wise and in his individual series. The First Doctor is a grumpy, forgetful sod but eventually grows to admire and love humanity. The Second Doctor was more of a clown, but also sacrificed himself to the Time Lords. The Third Doctor was action-orientated and a bit suave. The Fourth was anti-authority but a major drama queen, the Fifth sweeter, quieter and noble. The Sixth Doctor had even less sense of fashion than his predecessors and was a bit of a dick, but when the going got tough he always stood for what was right. The Seventh acted dim when he was potentially the smartest of the lot. Eight was an innocent little charmer. Nine was a recovering soldier, tough and brooding on the outside but a softy on the inside. Ten was completely manic and adored humanity to a fault and Eleven has gone from an adorkable guy who finds joy in everything to a much more secretive and dark figure. The Doctor has always changed and adapted. He has been played by upwards of 20 actors (audios and spoofs included here) all who add their own take to a character with no known name and no known age. Some aspects of the First Doctor of An Unearthly Child are completely unrecognizable next to the Eleventh Doctor in The Name of the Doctor. We€™ve overcome companion changes, Doctor changes, showrunner changes, format changes, two hiatuses, TARDIS design changes, genre changes, changes in political and social spheres the show operates in, controller changes, costume changes, the times they are a changin€™ €“ but you think skin colour is going to be the straw that breaks the camels back? You think that€™s going to cause a disconnect? Seems like you€™re the one who€™s disconnected.
