Doctor Who: 5 Worst And 5 Best Cybermen Stories

1. €œRise of the Cybermen€/€œThe Age of Steel€

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weNP_zxgTtU Here€™s some advice to the would-be screenwriters out there. When you have a villain with an origin story that exists in the same continuity you are already writing in, do not, DO NOT, create a second set of those villains only with a different origin story. Now the Mondas origin has its problems, I€™ll admit. But, really, did we need to have yet another version of the Cybermen from an alternate universe? One with, of course, zeppelins? (raise your hand if you can hear the Doctor saying, €œI fly in a zeppelin now. Zeppelins are cool€) This whole concept was pointless on every level. There was just no need to make up new Cybermen in a universe where they already existed! Add to that the fact that it set the stage for all the €œhave your cake and eat it, too€, moments that continued on through the rest of Rose€™s time with the Doctor. I honestly am very hard-pressed to come up with anything positive about this set of stories, so I€™m going to now pretend they never existed. I€™ll be much happier that way. Speaking of happier things, let€™s move on to the best of the Cybermen stories!
