Doctor Who 60th Anniversary: Predicting Chances Of Every Doctor Returning

2. The Fugitive Doctor (Jo Martin)

Jo Martin as Ruth/The Fugitive Doctor in Doctor Who
BBC Studios

Though Jo Martin has been excellent in the small amount of screen time she's had as the Fugitive Doctor, her character feels tied to the Chris Chibnall era: the Division, Swarm, the Timeless Child, the Thirteenth Doctor, all that stuff.

As such, it's hard to imagine RTD finding a place for her in the 60th, and considering the showrunner's apparent disdain for the Timeless Child revelation, it's even less likely that he'd want to revisit a character who's so closely tied to that plotline.

We'd love to be wrong about this one, because, again, Martin is superb in the role. It would be awesome to see RTD separate her from that Chibnall-era baggage and give her some proper meaty storylines to chew on, but if we're just talking about the 60th, then we don't see it happening.

Chances: 1/10.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
