Doctor Who: 7 Most Memorable Moments Of Wilfred Mott

3. Wilf Promises To Watch For The Doctor In Donna's Place (Journey's End)

Sadly, upon the discovery that the Time Lord mind Donna received in the metacrisis event in Journey's End is too much for her human brain and will kill her, The Doctor is forced to erase all her memories of him, and their adventures together.

If she remembers The Doctor, Donna's brain will burn, and she will die. The Doctor returns the mind-wiped Donna to her family, completely heartbroken over the loss of the woman who had become his very best friend.

While Sylvia Noble seems pleased to be rid of The Doctor, Wilf is heartbroken over the loss of Donna's memories of all the wonderful places she had been and things she had done. Most of all, Wilf grieves the loss of the person his granddaughter had become through her time with The Doctor. However, he kindly promises that he will look for The Doctor among the stars, and think of him for her. A bittersweet book-end to a heartbreaking scene.
