Doctor Who: 7 Reasons Series 7 Part 1 Happened In Reverse For The Doctor

4. Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

Right away, something's up. The Doctor sees Brian and seems to not know who he is but then when Rory reassures him, the Doctor immediately knows without any prompting that his name is Brian. Sure, Rory could have told him in a previous encounter but it's still suspicious that he's acting so over the top and then all fine and dandy about it. Perhaps this is because the Doctor previously asked Brian to come along on an adventure in The Power of Three? Also, Amy mentions fairly soon afterward that it has been 10 months since he saw them last. This becomes a habit with these last three adventures. Amy mentions that it has been this amount of time since he saw them last, creating a fixed point that he cannot alter. Whatever the Doctor does, he has no choice but to remain away for the 10 months before this. There's another key interaction nearing the final part of the episode in which Amy and the Doctor get a few quick words in. He jubilantly exclaims that "You'll be there until the end of me" and Amy replies, "Or vice versa". The Doctor looks absolutely crushed by the thought and there is a protracted pause in which he simply stares at Amy, as if he wouldn't be seeing her much longer. Finally, the dinosaurs were sent home along with Amy and Rory and the Doctor and Brian go on a few adventures around the planet, fulfilling the Doctor's earlier request in The Power of Three, ironically happening earlier in the timeline from Brian's perspective. Amy and Rory, meanwhile, are refusing to stay aboard the TARDIS for more than one adventure and the Doctor is growing ever more desperate to prolong their time, but he must be beginning to see that their time is running out.
