Doctor Who: 7 Reasons Series 7 Part 1 Happened In Reverse For The Doctor

3. Asylum Of The Daleks/Pond Life

Perhaps even more horrifying than being captured by the Daleks was the revelation that Amy and Rory had divorced. Not because of their plight (the Doctor knew they would be fine and intended to see that through) but because he was more worried about the fact that divorces take time. Had he been a constant presence in their lives, this would not have happened. After his time in the Dalek Asylum and seeing both of them back together, he more gingerly entered their lives through phone messages and small visits, not wanting to lose them, but still not wanting to corrupt the timeline. Eventually, he thinks better of a more heartfelt message and erases it, in case it altered something. In the Asylum itself, the Doctor skillfully manipulated the two back together seemingly without effort. After doing so, he dropped them off home, allowing them time to rectify their relationship in time to go aboard the Silurian ship in Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. Something further to note is that he met Oswin much later in his timeline than in the traditional order, so he was even more familiar with her once The Snowmen came around. All in all, this is the moment in which the Doctor lost control of his plan. The Daleks' interference cost him the ability to work around any errors he found. If he was not personally affected by Amy and Rory's troubles, he could have easily averted it and bought himself more time, but once the point was fixed, it was done and dusted.
