Doctor Who: 7 Reasons Why Peter Davison Was The Best Doctor

2. "..."

Earthshock Earthshock is notable as a story for a variety of reasons. The return of the Cybermen - certainly. The way that so many secrets were kept form being spoiled - definitely (although in the pre-internet age that was certainly easier than it is now. What strikes me most is the way that Peter Davison responds to Adric's death. (sorry... spoiler alert there...) He doesn't. Tegan tries and fails to act. Nyssa shouts out his name in despair. And the Doctor does nothing. But you know what the most significant thing that he doesn't do is? He doesn't turn away. He makes himself watch ever second. He makes sure that he feels every second of that loss.
