Doctor Who: 7 Things We Knows About The Revolution Of The Daleks

Captain Jack will return to Doctor Who this Christmas.

News surrounding the next instalment in the journey of the Thirteenth Doctor has been kept pretty quiet since we last saw the Doctor and her fam in the season 12 climax, The Timeless Children. The controversial episode saw the Doctor having to battle with the new knowledge that her past wasn’t what she thought it was. The Master exposed to The Doctor that her life had not started with the first incarnation of The Doctor but in fact, she had lived an unknown amount of lives before that.

But now after months of waiting, we have been treated to our first look at this year’s seasonal special, Revolution Of The Daleks, which brings back Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor, as well as Bradley Walsh (Graham), Mandip Gill (Yaz), and Tosin Cole (Ryan), who is believed to be exiting the program to make room for his new American drama, 61st Street.

Even though the trailer wasn’t that long (and wasn't really a trailer), there is still lots of news to get our teeth stuck into. Let’s work our way thought the trailer and see what we can piece together from the new footage, set leaks, and a few rumours. Be careful of spoilers. You’ve been warned.

7. The Companions

From what we can gather from the New York Comic-Con panel earlier in the year, The Doctors companions have been left behind on Earth, thinking that their newest friend has abandoned them forever. Whilst together, it can be assumed that they come to the knowledge that the Daleks have returned to Earth in some form or another. Given the nature of the episode, this is more than likely going to be a rogue Dalek. Without the Doctor by their side, Ryan, Yaz, and Graham team up to brainstorm ideas to fight a potential battle on Earth whilst the Doctor is missing.

We currently don’t know much about their plans apart from a note placed on the table that reads "MDZ must research". MDZ might not mean anything at first, but if you were paying attention to the last Doctor Who festive special you will remember it’s the location where the Dalek, using a human host, drives the Police car to gather it’s new weaponry. For those mega conspiracy theorists out there, you might also have noticed that the logo for MDZ actually does look a little like a Dalek.
