5. Patrick Troughton As A Washer Woman
Dressing up as a woman isn't a pastime that's only interested the modern incarnations of the Doctor, you know. He's always been a great master of disguise and one of his earliest examples of showcasing just how transformative he can be came in the 1966 serial The Highlanders in which the incumbent Time Lord Patrick Troughton took on an array of guises including a German doctor, a Red coat and, naturally, an aged washer woman. Because why the hell not? He even put on a Scottish brogue to ensure he fitted in with his surroundings but, let's be honest, when isn't the Doctor sticking out like a sore thumb? You can't blame a Time Lord for trying, though, and, as you'll soon discover, some have tried much harder than others...
